Shared section: how the two of you disagree
When something bothers one of you, the first few hours go differently for each of you. One of you settles by saying it out loud while it's still fresh. The other settles by waiting until they know what they think. Both are reasonable ways to handle a hard moment, and neither is the problem. The friction sits in the gap between them, where waiting can look like being ignored and pushing can look like being cornered. That's why the same small disagreement can feel so much bigger than its subject.
